Onion Tart with Mustard and Fennel

Courtesy of Smitten Kitchen's wonderful recipes:

This was my attempt at making dough with yeast, and it came out pretty well! It makes me all the more excited to try bread next. Maybe garlic rosemary focaccia would be good...

And, of course, everything tastes better when you share with your roommates. Marie had some too, but she had to leave for France for the weekend, so she couldn't stay for the whole dinner. Here I am with Mansoureh and Sharon. Our first meal all together!

  1. Have you really never made bread before? Oh Jordan you are missing out! It is the most wonderful and satisfying cooking experience. I will see if I can find some of my favorite recipes for my visit.

  2. Hey Jordan, Sounds delicious! I'll have Brian send you his best bread recipes. They're super delicious (addictive, really) and super easy. It's a no-knead but 18-hour rise bread. If you have access to a dutch oven, you're golden. He even made me olive bread, one of my favs from last summer in Basel. We will definitely add your recipe to our "to try" list!
    Take care,
    Michelle

  3. Hey Michelle, That would be great! I want some new bread recipes to try. Unfortunately, I do not have a dutch oven. I would love to try olive bread, though. I'm up for anything. I also recently tried this recipe: http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=522152.
    It turned out great!
